Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 hours per week guaranteed | 13-week assignment (up to 26 weeks upon request) | Projected Start: July 27, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to post-surgical patients including urology, orthopedic, and general surgery populations, as well as medical overflow patients
- Develop nursing diagnoses, establish care objectives, and define and implement nursing interventions
- Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- Monitor and document changing patient conditions, reassess care objectives, and communicate findings to the care team
- Demonstrate willingness to take on charge nurse responsibilities as needed; float customarily to Med Surg and Progressive units
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of post-surgical nursing experience (post-recovery, not OR)
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Flu vaccination required November 1 – April 1 (exemptions must be client approved)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; must be a collaborative team player
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Peri-dialysis experience
- Prior charge nurse experience or demonstrated leadership on a Med Surg unit
