Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical Neurosciences (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 weeks (up to 26 weeks upon request) | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 guaranteed hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, including nursing diagnosis, care objectives, and defined interventions for medical and surgical neuroscience patients (e.g., Parkinson's, stroke, lumbar conditions)
  • Monitor, record, and report changes in patient conditions; administer medications, wound care, and IV therapy including central line management
  • Collaborate and communicate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Maintain a safe patient care environment by adhering to infection control protocols, medication administration procedures, and regulatory standards including Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals
  • Provide patient and family education on health topics, disease prevention, procedures, and discharge instructions
  • Assume or support charge nurse duties as needed; appropriately delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel and ancillary staff
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification (may be completed at orientation)
  • Flu vaccination required November 1 – April 1 (exemptions subject to client approval)
  • Willingness to float to Med Surg and Progressive Care units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Neuroscience and stroke nursing experience highly preferred
  • Prior charge nurse experience or demonstrated willingness to take on charge responsibilities
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
