    TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, 63701!

    Job Title

    Travel RN – Medical Surgical Neurosciences (Night Shift)

    Location

    Cape Girardeau, Missouri

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 weeks (up to 26 weeks upon request) | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 guaranteed hours per week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans including nursing diagnosis, care objectives, and defined interventions for medical and surgical neuroscience patients (e.g., Parkinson's, stroke, lumbar conditions)
    • Monitor, record, and report changes in patient conditions; administer medications, wound care, and IV therapy including central line management
    • Consult and coordinate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
    • Maintain a safe patient care environment by adhering to infection-control protocols, medication administration procedures, and regulatory standards including Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals
    • Provide education to patients and families regarding health conditions, medications, procedures, and self-care; support patients physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually
    • Assume or support charge nurse duties as needed; appropriately supervise and delegate to unlicensed assistive personnel and ancillary staff
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification (may be completed at orientation)
    • Flu vaccination required for assignments running November 1 – April 1 (exemptions subject to client approval)
    • Willingness to assume or learn charge nurse responsibilities
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Neuroscience and stroke nursing experience highly preferred
    • Prior charge nurse experience
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
    • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and patient-centered approach
