Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 16-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a maximum patient ratio of 6:1
- Perform standard nursing skills including IV insertion, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, and central line maintenance
- Administer medications accurately and in accordance with facility protocols
- Document all patient care activities and clinical findings in the electronic health record (Meditech EMR)
- Communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Float to other Med/Surg units as needed and participate in rotating weekend coverage
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of acute Medical/Surgical experience within the last year
- Demonstrated ability to manage a patient load of 4–6 patients simultaneously
- Proficiency with standard nursing equipment and electronic health record systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of acute Medical/Surgical experience within the last year
- Background in orthopedics, neurosurgery, or Medical/Surgical Telemetry
