Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Care for post-operative patients including those recovering from hip/knee procedures, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
- Administer and monitor drips including PCA and Heparin
- Float across multiple campuses as required by unit needs
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records
- Participate in holiday coverage as required, including up to 1–2 summer holidays
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
- PCA and Heparin administration experience
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Post-operative surgical nursing experience
- Patient care experience specific to hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery populations
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the past 24 months
