Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 4–5:1 RN-to-patient ratio on day shift
Perform NIH stroke assessments, neuro assessments, and fall risk assessments
Manage and monitor patients requiring IV pumps, seizure monitoring, BiPAP, CPAP, and glucometer use
Provide trach care and feeding tube management as indicated by patient needs
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care technicians to deliver high-quality patient outcomes
Apply Neuro Clinical Practice Guidelines for stroke (AANN) in daily practice
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Colorado or through compact licensure
Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to multi-task, think critically, and take initiative in a fast-paced neuro environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Prior neuro nursing experience
Experience with Meditech EMR
