Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF population
Perform and manage clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, chest tube care, NG/PEG tube management, straight cath/Foley insertion, ostomy care, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
Float within skillset to alternate campuses as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float assignments
Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including three weekends per six-week schedule and every other holiday
May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
Required Qualifications
Current active Registered Nurse compact license
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIHSS certification
Minimum of 2 years of recent, strong Medical-Surgical experience
At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
Trauma Level II experience
Recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class will be required upon start)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage high-acuity Med-Surg patients
Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Experience with cross-campus or multi-site float assignments
