Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Location

Fargo, ND | Inpatient

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Day/Night Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical/surgical patients, including those experiencing behavioral disturbances, on a 32-bed inpatient Medical-Specialty unit
• Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, utilizing age- and population-specific standards appropriate to the clinical setting
• Operate unit equipment including telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Acuivein, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Document and manage patient information using EPIC EMR
• Float to other medical/surgical units across all Fargo campuses as needed to support unit balance

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state
• BLS certification – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — candidates currently on their first travel assignment will not be considered
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a local travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced inpatient medical/surgical environment
• Familiarity with Philips monitoring systems and telemetry
• Experience caring for patients with behavioral health needs in a medical setting
• Comfort with self-scheduling and flexibility to adapt to rotating day/night shift assignments based on unit needs
