Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical unit serving an adult and geriatric population
Manage common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, infection, and end-of-life/hospice care
Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6 and operate equipment including Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
Document and manage patient records using Cerner EHR
Float as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units (accepting med/surg level patients)
Work every other weekend; no call requirements
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Proficiency with Cerner EHR
Demonstrated IV competency
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered a travel candidate
Preferred Experience / Skills
Charge nurse experience
Strong team player with a patient advocacy mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
