Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Medical-Surgical unit with a patient population that includes geriatric patients with CHF, COPD, and diabetes-related conditions
Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–1:5 during day shifts and 1:6 during night shifts
Float to the Emergency Department within scope of competency as needed
Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR and CareScape patient monitors
Administer and manage medications using Pyxis dispensing system
Participate in every-other-weekend and holiday rotation schedule; available for on-call and call-back assignments with a minimum 2-hour callback requirement
Required Qualifications
Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
Prior ICU and Emergency Department experience required
Proficiency with Epic EMR, CareScape patient monitors, and Pyxis medication dispensing
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Experience caring for geriatric populations with complex chronic conditions such as CHF and COPD
