Travel Registered Nurse – Orthopedic/Trauma (Medical Surgical), Day Shift (7A–7P)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | 13-Week Assignment | Projected Start: August 24, 2026 | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 23-bed Orthopedic/Trauma unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Care for post-operative patients including knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as trauma and neuro overflow patients
• Utilize traction, fixators, and cooling equipment in accordance with unit protocols
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Conduct bedside shift reports and perform hourly rounding in alignment with patient experience standards
• Float to other Medical Surgical level-of-care units (General Med Surg, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma) as needed per floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Ability to work 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Willingness to float to comparable Medical Surgical units as contract labor per facility policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred
• Telemetry (Tele) experience
• NIH Stroke Scale certification or familiarity, given neuro overflow patient population
