Key Responsibilities
Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care to patients on a 20-bed Transplant Nephrology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
Deliver comprehensive care to patients with renal conditions, including those who have undergone kidney transplants
Coordinate with off-unit dialysis services and communicate patient status effectively to the care team
Utilize Meditech for clinical documentation and patient record management
Collaborate with unit secretaries, patient care technicians, and a unit educator to support patient care delivery
Fulfill scheduling requirements including 3 weekend shifts per month; agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience in medical-surgical nursing
Ability to work in a Level 1 Trauma designated facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
Background in nephrology, renal care, or kidney transplant nursing
Familiarity with dialysis patient care coordination
Experience with Meditech documentation system
