Provide direct patient care in a 17-bed Trauma Neuro ICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:4 depending on acuity and stepdown or bedhold status
Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, CRRT machines, cardiac monitors, and IV pumps
Perform and assist with procedures including TLC placement, intubation, CRRT, TTM, Stroke tPA administration, foley catheter insertion, CPR, defibrillation/cardioversion, and TEE
Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
Collaborate as part of a night shift team consisting of a charge nurse, 6–7 RNs, 1–2 PCAs, and sitters as needed
Document all patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
Active RN state licensure
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
NIH Stroke Scale certification
Demonstrated ability to pass EKG competency exam for cardiac rhythm interpretation
Minimum of 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TCAR certification
Prior experience in a Trauma or Neuro ICU environment
Familiarity with EPIC EMR
