Float across Med/Oncology, two surgical units, and two medical units within a large acute care hospital setting
Provide total patient care in a 128-bed Med/Surg department with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and no dedicated PCAs
Care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses including colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general surgery, orthopedics, diabetes, heart disease, COPD, and kidney and GI conditions
Perform occasional cardiac strip reading as needed; no routine telemetry assignment
Float to any Med/Surg pod based on staffing needs, including every-other-weekend coverage
Complete 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation prior to independent practice
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in Arkansas or compact state eligibility
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Current, relevant Medical/Surgical nursing experience in a large hospital setting
Must be an experienced travel nurse — first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with oncology patient populations in addition to Med/Surg
Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring and basic strip interpretation
Prior experience in a float pool or multi-unit environment
Exposure to or experience with EPIC EMR (facility transitioning to EPIC in late 2026)
