Job Title

RN Med Surg – Medical Surgical / Oncology

Lorain, OH

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Onsite

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments and maintain current nursing care plans for all assigned patients on a 32-bed Med Surg/Oncology unit
• Administer medications safely and consistently in accordance with state practice standards and facility policies, including management of IV starts, CVC line draws, and med pass
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, Epidural/PCA pumps, Kangaroo pumps, wound vacs, high-flow oxygen systems, Hoyer lifts, and Arjo equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to establish and execute individualized patient care plans, including discharge and continuing care planning
• Serve as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and acting as a liaison across hospital departments
• Provide physical and psychological support to patients and families, including collaboration with spiritual care, palliative care, and ethics teams

• Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a nursing compact agreement
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Dysrhythmia Exam completion required
• Must not be a local candidate — travel candidates only

• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred
• Medical-Surgical nursing certification (RN-BC, CMSRN, or PCCN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
