Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical in Morgantown, WV

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Orthopedic Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule | Holiday rotation participation expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Care for patients with common orthopedic diagnoses including joint replacements and fractures; Total Joint Replacement experience required
• Collaborate with a team that includes a Charge Nurse available 24/7 and CNAs on each shift
• Monitor telemetry as needed; RNs are not required to independently read strips
• Administer respiratory therapy equipment (e.g., CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow) on an as-needed basis
• Float to other units as needed (e.g., comparable med-surg floors within the facility)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of West Virginia (or compact license eligibility)
• BLS certification (required, must be current and unexpired)
• Strong orthopedic nursing experience, including Total Joint Replacement (not fractures alone)
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted with appropriate documentation for review and approval
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an orthopedic or telemetry setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in an acute care environment
• Experience working with CNA-supported teams and high-acuity orthopedic patient populations
