Schedule & Ratios
Shift: Nights, 4×12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Target Ratios:
Days: 1:5
Nights: 1:6–7
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
Floating Expectations
Required to float to:
ICU
ED
Other Med-Surg units
May be assigned patient sitting duties.
Will not be assigned patients that fall outside clinical competency.
Responsibilities
Manage patients with varied medical conditions:
GI bleeds
Cellulitis
Detox
GI/Respiratory issues
Start and maintain IVs and provide peripheral line care.
Manage surgical drains.
Utilize Epic for charting and documentation.
Participate in interdisciplinary care with teams such as:
PT, RT, Pharmacy, Radiology, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Transportation, Unit Secretary.
