Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Neuro (Night Shift)

Key Responsibilities- Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients on a 20-bed Medical Surgical / Neuro unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
- Prioritize and manage care for a diverse medical-surgical and neurological patient population
- Perform IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in the plan of care
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to float per unit policy; contract labor is first to float by rotation
- Compliance with unit dress code: navy scrub tops and bottoms required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience on a Neuro Med/Surg unit
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Experience working in a Comprehensive Stroke Center or ACS Verified Trauma Center environment
