Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical in North Charleston, SC

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend | Overtime may be available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Medical/Surgical unit serving post-operative and general med/surg patients in a fast-paced inpatient environment
• Maintain patient ratios targeting 1:6, with a maximum of 1:7, collaborating closely with PCTs and unit secretaries
• Perform unit-specific procedures including wound care, I/O catheterization, and trach care
• Utilize Meditech for clinical documentation and iPhone-based communication tools for team coordination
• Participate in frequent huddles and bedside shift report (BSSR) to ensure continuity of care and team alignment
• Float on a PRN basis as needed per unit floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in South Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency or ability to quickly adapt to Meditech documentation system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EKG interpretation, bladder scanner operation, and ultrasound-guided IV insertion
• Familiarity with complex patient dispositions and collaboration with case management and social work teams
• Background working in high-acuity or high-volume inpatient med/surg environments
