Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday Nights) | Holidays Rotate with Regular Staff

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit managing a diverse patient population including chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic, detox, post-operative surgical, and pediatric patients
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of no more than 5 patients per nurse
• Document telemetry strip readings faxed from the ICU monitoring team
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for management of CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients
• Float to assist other units as a tasker or additional support as needed
• Maintain current BLS and NIHSS certifications throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong Med/Surg background with experience managing a high-acuity, varied patient population

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS and/or PALS certification (recommended but not required)
• Experience working in a rural or community hospital setting
• Comfort working with pediatric patients in a Med/Surg environment
