Key Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments and noting all changes in physician orders.
Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
Interacts with patients and families to communicate the care plan throughout the hospital stay and at discharge, including education on hospital procedures.
Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience.
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Tracheostomy experience and stepdown experience required; proficiency with Epic EMR required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
ICU experience preferred.
Strong ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
