    RN Medicine Specialty – Medical Surgical

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments and noting all changes in physician orders.
    • Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
    • Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
    • Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
    • Interacts with patients and families to communicate the care plan throughout the hospital stay and at discharge, including education on hospital procedures.
    • Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience.
    • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
    • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
    • Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
    • Tracheostomy experience and stepdown experience required; proficiency with Epic EMR required.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
    • ICU experience preferred.
    • Strong ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
    • Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
