Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Interacts with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge, and informs them of hospital procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of registered nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Tracheostomy care experience and stepdown (high acuity) experience required; Epic EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
- ICU experience
- Strong ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services across a variety of patient complexities
