Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week options available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on Medical Surgical and related units, which may include Telemetry, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Trauma, Stepdown, or Observation depending on assignment
  • Administer and manage IV drips as required across all assigned floors
  • Float within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs, including potential assignment to a sister campus approximately 16 minutes from the main campus
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics/swoop, and LPNs where applicable
  • Accurately document all patient care activities using EPIC electronic health records
  • Fulfill weekend shift requirements (Friday night and Saturday night for night shift) and work 2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
Required Qualifications
  • Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled six weeks out)
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
  • Experience managing IV drips required
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification strongly preferred
  • Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center preferred for first-time travelers being considered
  • Background in specialty areas such as Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Trauma, or Cardiac/Telemetry
