Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Ortho Trauma Med/Surg unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 (flex to 1:6)
Care for polytrauma patients, non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine, ortho, and trauma, downgraded TBI patients, burn downgrades, and patients with up to three drains
Manage Heparin and Protonix drips and monitor patients on telemetry equipment
Participate in unit huddle, arriving on the unit by 1845 per hospital policy
Float to other Med/Surg units as needed
Fulfill a four-weekend commitment per assignment requirements
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Proficiency with telemetry equipment
Experience with Meditech EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
Orthopedic and/or trauma patient care experience
Strong team-player mentality with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
