Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Deliver comprehensive nursing services to patients presenting with a wide variety of disease processes including renal, hepatic, respiratory, cardiac, neurologic, psychiatric, and infectious diseases
Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems while demonstrating age-specific competencies for the population served
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team members and other healthcare professionals as needed
Maintain accountability for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care, incorporating family and caregivers into the care plan where appropriate
Float to other units within scope of competency as organizational needs require; may be asked to pick up one additional shift per scheduling period (every 4 weeks)
Required Qualifications
Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start date
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care environment
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on department needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for patients with COPD, sepsis, diabetes, cellulitis, pneumonia, or ETOH withdrawal
Prior experience in a large, high-acuity inpatient setting such as a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
Comfort working with a diverse adult patient population ranging from young adults to geriatric patients
