Provide direct patient care on a 45-bed Medical/Surgical unit serving orthopedic, general surgery, urology, and medical patients including diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, and pneumonia
Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 on nights, delivering organized and patient-focused care
Operate and monitor equipment including Plum pumps, Pyxis, Ascom phones, bladder scanner, EKG machine, and Phillips Cardiac Monitor
Perform telemetry monitoring and accurate clinical documentation within the EPIC EMR system
Demonstrate proficiency with IV insertion and management
Float to other units as required and participate in every-other-weekend scheduling
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Proficiency with IV skills and telemetry monitoring
Experience with EPIC EMR
Completion of assigned LMS education modules prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
PALS certification (required only if assigned to care for pediatric patients)
Minimum 1 year of experience in a Med/Surg setting (2+ years preferred)
Familiarity with orthopedic, urology, or general surgery patient populations
