Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings accurately in the patient chart
- Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on ongoing patient assessment
- Evaluate patient responses to care and adjust the plan of care accordingly
- Oversee and delegate specific components of the patient plan of care to unit staff
- Provide nursing care for a general Med/Surg patient population including oncology, observation, hospice, and medical and surgical patients
- Work under the supervision of the Med/Surg Nurse Manager and perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications- Active Michigan RN license (verified Active status via LARA and/or Nursys)
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Med/Surg Observation experience
- Current Skills Checklist (within the past year) pertinent to Medical Surgical specialty
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with oncology, hospice, or surgical patient populations
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation in an acute care setting
