Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the lifespan and develop individualized plans of care for patients with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition through appropriate interventions or escalation of care
Exercise independent nursing judgment in determining appropriate nursing actions, priorities, and when consultation or escalation to a licensed independent provider is required
Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of services
Accurately and timely document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record
Participate in quality and performance improvement activities; maintain required competencies, certifications, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (required at hire for experienced nurses; within 6 months for new graduates)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association (required at hire for experienced nurses; within 6 months for new graduates)
Clinical competency validation required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years; high-risk competency validation required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in an acute care, medical-surgical, or inpatient nursing setting
Experience working with diverse patient populations and delivering culturally responsive care
Proficiency with electronic health record systems in a clinical environment
