Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
  • Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
  • Operate unit equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps, wound vacs, PCA pumps, SCD machines, low air loss mattresses, and remote telemetry monitors
  • May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs; work every other weekend as required
Required Qualifications
  • Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
  • Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
  • Ability to meet physical demands including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Experience with EPIC EMR
  • Experience caring for GI, GU, wound care, acute withdrawal, altered mental status, dialysis/ESRD, or minor surgical patients
