Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups on a 60-bed Medical/Telemetry unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio
Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
Operate unit equipment including bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs; document care using EPIC EMR
Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit; participate in full-week day-shift orientation prior to beginning night shift
Required Qualifications
Current RN license eligible for or active in the state of Missouri
Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; ability to lift, push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and tolerate high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Experience with telemetry monitoring in a Medical Surgical setting
Demonstrated teamwork, dependability, and flexibility in a fast-paced inpatient environment
