    RN – Medical Surgical (General Medical Inpatient)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend rotation

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed general medical inpatient unit serving a broad range of diagnoses including respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
    • Care for patients requiring dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal), sepsis management, and treatment of various infections
    • Utilize Epic electronic health record system for clinical documentation (test-out option available)
    • Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient staffing ratio while delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
    • Float as needed to other post-surgical floors and general medical/surgical inpatient units
    • Participate in holiday rotation; up to 2 federal holidays per year and select non-essential holidays as scheduled
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Kansas or Multistate RN license required; no disciplinary actions or license hits permitted, no exceptions
    • AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
    • Minimum 1 year of acute care medical/surgical experience
    • ADN or BSN degree in Nursing
    • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella (titer or vaccination series documentation); TDaP; Influenza vaccine or approved exemption during flu season; current TB documentation
    • Local travelers are welcome and accepted at the standard rate; no radius rule applies
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
    • Background in caring for patients with complex, multi-system diagnoses in an inpatient setting
    • Ability to commit to a longer contract length (26–51 weeks preferred; priority given to longer commitments)
