Contract | Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every other weekend required | Rotating days/nights may apply (typically 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–7 on day shift; titrate applicable drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix (cardiac drip titration not required)
Monitor patients on telemetry in coordination with a dedicated monitor technician; independent strip interpretation is not expected
Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy staff who manage breathing treatments, inhalers, ABGs, and respiratory equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow O2; RN role is limited to patient monitoring
Work alongside patient care technicians responsible for vitals, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, heart monitor application, bathing, feeding, toileting, and turning/positioning
Adhere to floating requirements, which may include reassignment to other Medical Surgical, MS-Tele, or IMC units for lower-acuity patients; participate in shift pull rotation as needed
Required Qualifications
Active, unencumbered RN license (any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission)
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
Must wear navy blue scrubs per unit dress code
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license is required with all submissions
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with Medical Surgical patient populations including GI, respiratory, and withdrawal diagnoses
Familiarity with drip titration protocols (heparin, diuretics)
Experience working in a telemetry-monitored environment
Flexibility to adapt to rotating day/night shift schedules and fill scheduling gaps as needed
