Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (1845–0715) | Every-other-weekend requirement

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 52-bed Medical Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6–7, caring for a diverse population including post-operative orthopedic, general surgery, and neurological patients as well as medical diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, and cellulitis
  • Assess and monitor patient IV sites in coordination with a dedicated IV and PICC team; manage drips including Heparin, PCAs with MSO4, and occasional Ativan infusions
  • Support patients requiring respiratory interventions including BiPAP (intermittent), CPAP, and High Flow oxygen in collaboration with in-house Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
  • Care for hemodialysis patients on the unit; experience with peritoneal dialysis is highly preferred
  • Document and manage patient care using the Sunrise EMR system; utilize Pyxis for medication management with 24/7 pharmacy support
  • Float as needed to other Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Oncology units, with possible float to IMC for MedSurg overflow (no drips when floating)
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license; any licensing history disclosures required at time of submission
  • Current BLS certification (required)
  • Current NIHSS certification (required)
  • Valid, unexpired driver's license (copy required at time of submission)
  • Ability to meet weekend rotation requirements (3 weekends out of every 6-week schedule; Nights: Friday/Saturday)
  • Willingness to participate in holiday rotation scheduling
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Experience with peritoneal dialysis
  • Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring and the ability to read telemetry strips
  • Prior experience with Sunrise EMR
