Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Neurology

Contract | Nights (3x12, 18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
  • Maintain a 1:6 patient ratio while applying a teamwork-based approach to care with an emphasis on patient safety
  • Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
  • Fulfill weekend shift requirements, averaging every other weekend (5–6 weekend shifts per contract period)
  • Float to other units within the facility as needed; travelers are expected to float first
  • Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during declared catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week as assigned; overtime billed only after 48 hours when on a 48-hour schedule
  • Willingness to wear Navy Blue scrubs per unit dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification or prior neurology experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
  • Prior travel nursing experience (not required but welcomed)
