Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (12-Hour Nights, 36–48 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for a Medical Surgical unit with a patient population including traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, spine injuries, subdural hematomas, and neurological trauma
• Manage heparin drips, PCA, blood product administration, and IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral lines
• Perform colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, wound care, and surgical drain management including chest tubes
• Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, oxygen protocol, and non-invasive airway management including tracheostomy and oral suctioning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic and operate within unit systems including Pyxis and SBAR communication
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed, and participate in storm, hurricane, or disaster response teams as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience within the last 5 years
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record documentation
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification and ability to interpret dysrhythmias
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and drip management
• Background in CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, or spinal cord injury care
