Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations on a Medical Surgical unit
- Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Manage common diagnoses and treatments including surgical care, peritoneal dialysis exchanges, and psychiatric support
- Document patient information accurately using the MEDITECH electronic health record system
- Float as a second nurse to Telemetry and Emergency Department units as needed
- Adhere to scheduling requirements to meet unit staffing needs, including every other weekend
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Associate Degree in Nursing minimum
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Experience with MEDITECH electronic health record system
- Ability to work every other weekend and adapt schedule to unit needs
Preferred Experience / Skills- Strong Medical Surgical background with familiarity in telemetry monitoring
- Experience with geriatric and adult patient populations
- Comfort working in a team-oriented, family-focused care environment
