Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations on a Medical Surgical unit
Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and respond appropriately to changes in condition
Manage common diagnoses and treatments including surgical care, peritoneal dialysis exchanges, and psychiatric support
Document patient information accurately using the MEDITECH electronic health record system
Float as a second nurse to Telemetry and Emergency Department units as needed
Adhere to scheduling requirements to meet unit staffing needs, including every other weekend
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Associate Degree in Nursing minimum
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Current BLS certification
NIH Stroke Scale certification
Experience with MEDITECH electronic health record system
Ability to work every other weekend and adapt schedule to unit needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
Strong Medical Surgical background with familiarity in telemetry monitoring
Experience with geriatric and adult patient populations
Comfort working in a team-oriented, family-focused care environment
