Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric populations across two units (22 beds each)
Manage a patient ratio of up to 6:1 or 7:1, delivering safe and effective nursing care
Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
Assist with common diagnoses and treatments including surgical care, peritoneal dialysis exchanges, line/tube placements, and psychiatric presentations
Float as a second nurse to Telemetry and the Emergency Department as needed
Work every other weekend as part of the standard scheduling requirement
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing required
Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Current BLS certification (required)
NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
Ability to float to Telemetry and Emergency Department as a second nurse
Flexibility to be scheduled according to unit needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with MEDITECH electronic health record system
Background in Medical Surgical specialty nursing
Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations
