Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric populations
Manage a patient ratio of up to 6:1 or 7:1 across a 22-bed unit
Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and respond appropriately to changes in condition
Perform and assist with common procedures including surgical care, PD exchanges, and psychiatric support
Float as a second nurse to Telemetry and the Emergency Department as needed
Work every other weekend as part of the standard scheduling requirement
Required Qualifications
Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical experience
Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
Current BLS certification (required)
NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
Ability to float to Telemetry and ED as a second nurse
Flexibility to be scheduled according to unit needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with MEDITECH electronic health record system
Background in telemetry monitoring within a Med Surg setting
Familiarity with geriatric and adult patient populations
