- Skills in managing newborn hypoglycemia
- Familiarity with post-epidural management
- Experience in pain assessment and management
- Proficient in using PCA (IV)
- Ability to assess the bladder and perform Foley catheter insertion
- Skills in breastfeeding instructions
- Knowledge of episiotomy/incision care
- Competence in fundus, lochia, and perineum care
- Experience with electric/manual breast pumps
- Experience with vaginal delivery and cesarean section
- Knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
Description:
Two years of experience is required.
Candidates must not be first-time travelers.
Travelers may be required to float.
Weekend work may be required to meet staffing needs.
The unit provides care for postpartum vaginal or cesarean deliveries, tubal ligation, and circumcision.
It includes GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery.
Required skills include blood/blood products administration, and management of drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vacs, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate.
Care focuses on OB-GYN, post-op care, postpartum readmissions, and normal newborn care, including thermoregulation and glucose management.
Daily patient care includes managing adolescent, infant, and adult patients.
Staffing may require working on three holidays.
