Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: State License required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: State License BLS NRP Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Mother-Baby and Couplet Care in the Post Partum unit. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Candidates must hold a valid state license and certifications in BLS and NRP. Skills in postpartum care, including discharge teaching to parents, infant identification, and newborn assessment, are essential. Experience with phototherapy, thermoregulation, and managing newborn hypoglycemia is required. The role involves knowledge of post-epidural management, opioids, and pain assessment and management. Additionally, candidates should be skilled in the use of PCA (IV), bladder assessment, and Foley catheter insertion. The ability to provide breastfeeding instructions and care associated with episiotomy/incision, fundus/lochia/perineum is necessary. The role includes experience with vaginal delivery and cesarean section, as well as handling postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension. All travelers are expected to float between facilities within a given state. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Compliance with background policies and disclosure of any license hits is required. References covering the past year are also required during the compliance process prior to the start. Candidates must commit to working holidays as part of the role.
