Job Title: RN - Neonatal ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Neonatal ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours, 0700-1900 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of strong Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience. License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Must be comfortable in a high acuity, fast-paced environment. Description: This role involves working in a Neonatal ICU setting. The facility has 247 licensed beds and is a teaching hospital. It is equipped to handle various patient diagnoses, including respiratory, cardiac, neurological, GI/GU, musculoskeletal, and endocrine issues. Common conditions treated include Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Congenital Heart Defects, Seizures, and Necrotizing Enterocolitis. Patient ratios vary based on acuity and may include 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 assignments. Required skills include EPIC experience, management of critical care vasoactive drip titration, and invasive line management. Candidates should possess competencies in ventilator management, suctioning, g-tube/j-tube management, and bedside procedures with providers. Support within the department includes a unit secretary, charge nurse, resource nurse, intensivist, residents, and clinical supervisors. Technology used includes EPIC EMR, Alaris and Medfusion pumps, and various monitoring devices. Weekend rotations and holiday work will be required as per the unit's scheduling needs. RTO needs should be minimal and will require manager approval. Scrubs must be navy or white, with specific guidelines regarding fit and branding.
