**Job Description:**
- **Unit Overview:**
- 42 Bed NICU
- 103 Dedicated Staff Members
- Supported by CNC, Transport RNs, Unit Secretaries, and Technicians
- **Patient Ratios:**
- Level 3: 2:1 and 1:1 (dependent on acuity)
- Level 2: 3:1
- **State-of-the-Art Equipment:**
- Radiant warmers, isolettes, syringe and feeding pumps, vents
- Oscillators, JETs, CPAP, NIPPV, High Flow nasal cannulas
- EKG monitors, breast milk warmer
- **EMR Systems:**
- CPN and Meditech
- **Essential Skills Required:**
- Safe medication administration including calculations
- Administer medications and EMB following the 5 patient rights
- Appropriate handling of EMB and care for patients with NG/OG tubes
- Care for patients on CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Nasal Cannula
- Management of PIV’s, PICC’s, UAC/UVC
- Provide care for patients 22 weeks and above
- Proficient use of all NICU equipment
- Promote safe sleeping at 32-34 weeks gestation
- Developmentally appropriate care for preterm infants
- Skilled in lab draws and escalating patient concerns
- Knowledge of NAS scoring
- **Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience with ETT, vents, JETs, cooling, and surgical patients
- **Typical Procedures:**
- Intubations, UAC/UVC placement, eye exams
- X-Rays, ultrasounds, EEG, EKG
- LP's, lab draws, PICC placement, circumcisions
- Bedside surgical procedures

- **Required Certifications:**
- BLS
- NRP
- **Floating Areas:**
- Mother Baby (only managing babies)
- **Dress Code:**
- Scrub Color/Attire: Royal Blue
- **Weekend Expectations:**
- Days: 4 weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
- Nights: 5 weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
