Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Center Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in trach management, vents, chest tubes, foleys, surgical drains, art lines, CVL, blood draw, IV start, traction, CPAP, high flow, oscillator, central lines, dressing changes, heliox, nitric respiratory support. - Proficient in administering drips including fentanyl, propofol, precedex, epinephrine, and levophed. Description: Nursing Float Pool position requires travel to multiple campuses. Assignments are posted 90-120 minutes prior to shift start. The facility has a capacity of 444 beds with various specialized units including NICU and PICU. Census averages between 15-18 patients per day, depending on the unit. Patient ratios include 1:2 for NICU and PICU, 1:3-4 for General Pediatrics and ER, 1:2 for PCICU. Support within the department includes CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy staff, and inpatient hospitalist and intensivist coverage. 24/7 respiratory therapy is available. Mandatory compliance with core equipment and technology is expected, including familiarity with electronic medical records and various monitoring devices. Weekend rotation is required every other week, along with working 75% of holidays. Approval of time off requests will go through management. Teamwork and a friendly unit culture are emphasized. Uniform scrubs are navy in color.
