Schedule: 12-hour shifts; every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday); holiday requirement of 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays based on unit needs; facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Highlights:
Level III NICU experience with patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 (1:4 in IMCU)
Care for neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks, including neonatal abstinence syndrome and neurologic care
EPIC charting system (Crib Notes); experience required
13-week assignment at a large teaching hospital with 665 beds
Float to Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and PICU as needed within skillset
First-time travelers and local candidates accepted at same rate
Requirements:
Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
Minimum 2 years of NICU Level III experience
Strong clinical skills including ventilator management, IV starts/maintenance, medication administration (anti-seizure, antibiotics/antivirals, steroids), phlebotomy, and blood product administration
Experience with cardiovascular monitoring/telemetry, respiratory support (HFNC, oxygen delivery systems), and managing respiratory distress
Competence in enteral feedings, tube placement, glucose monitoring, insulin administration, hyperbilirubinemia/phototherapy, breastfeeding support, and colostomy/ileostomy care
Ability to float to Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and PICU with appropriate patient assignments
EPIC charting experience required
