Schedule: Two shift options available: 4x12-hour shifts (1900-0730) with no call, or 3x12-hour shifts (1900-0730) with at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly. Every other weekend coverage required. Float to other NICU units or facilities as needed.

Highlights:

• Level II and III NICU experience caring for neonates 22 weeks gestation and greater with complex medical conditions
• Advanced procedures including therapeutic hypothermia, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and specialized eye treatments
• EPIC documentation system with 1 year minimum experience required
• State-of-the-art equipment including jet ventilators, HFOV, Arctic Sun cooling system, and specialized incubators
• 41-bed unit with average daily census of 38 patients and comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• 13-week contract with 40-hour orientation period

Requirements:

• Active South Carolina RN license
• Minimum 2 years of NICU Level II and III experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not eligible
• At least 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE required
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Experience with 2:1 patient ratios and complex neonatal diagnoses

Patient Population & Case Mix:

• Premature infants and critically ill neonates requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
• Conditions include: respiratory distress syndrome, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), neonatal abstinence syndrome, sepsis, congenital anomalies (abdominal wall defects, TEF, diaphragmatic hernia, myelomeningocele), and retinopathy of prematurity
• Post-surgical care for all anomalies except cardiac
• Expertise in ventilator management, umbilical line care, therapeutic hypothermia, ostomy care, and VP shunt management
