Travel Nurse RN - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - $2,900 per week in Livingston, NJ

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement; Holiday coverage required (1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs); Patient ratios vary based on unit, acuity, census, and staffing

Highlights:

• NICU-based float pool position serving a 56-bed Level III NICU that cares for over 1,200 premature and critically ill newborns annually
• Floating required to PICU, Pediatrics, Newborn Nursery, and Mother/Baby units (Mother/Baby assignments will not include caring for mothers)
• EPIC charting system utilized across all units
• Work within a 597-bed teaching hospital affiliated with a major medical school
• First-time travelers and local candidates welcome at the same rate
• Facility may call off one shift per two-week period as needed

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS
• Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience required
• Documented NICU Level III and PICU experience in employment history is mandatory
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy including A-line management, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, UAC/UVC, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
• Competency in cardiac/respiratory care including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Experience with neonatal feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
• Ability to float without exception to multiple pediatric units with appropriate patient assignments based on skill set
