Registered Nurse – NICU / Pediatrics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Alternating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required | Day Shift: 7:00–19:00 | Night Shift: 19:30–7:30

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to neonatal and pediatric patients including neonates, infants, and children across varying acuity levels with a ratio of 1:3, up to 1:4 for lower acuity groups
  • Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including prematurity, apnea of prematurity (AOP), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), bronchopulmonary/chronic lung disease, cardiac defects, feeding issues, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS)
  • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including tracheostomies, mechanical ventilators, PICCs, central lines, TPN, and intralipids
  • Float within specialty and sister units as needed
  • Adhere to required holiday scheduling as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing, including hands-on experience with tracheostomy and ventilator management
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
  • Current CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only accepted online vendor)
  • Willingness to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
  • Comfort floating within scope to sister units with no restrictions
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
  • NRP certification (NRP or AAP accepted)
  • Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
