Job Title

Registered Nurse – NICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend or Every 3rd Weekend Required | 2 Holidays Per Year

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a Level III NICU with 22 beds in an open-bed concept layout, caring for patients ranging from intermediate to critical acuity
  • Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3, or up to 1:4 for more stable feeder/grower patients
  • Titrate and administer drips including antibiotics, multivitamins, iron, surfactant, TPN, and epinephrine
  • Attend deliveries under 36 weeks gestation (including IUGR and C-sections) to assist with APGAR assessments
  • Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including bubble CPAP and ventilators; manage patients with central lines
  • Float to newborn nursery and pediatrics as assigned based on unit need
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience at a Level III or Level IV facility
  • Demonstrated ability to titrate drips independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for patients with diagnoses including RDS, SGA, prematurity, hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, and IUGR
  • Familiarity with bubble CPAP management and care of intubated neonates
  • Experience with central line care and management in the neonatal population
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
