Contract | Nights | 36 Hours per Week | Three 12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care in a Level 3 or Level 4 Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) setting for critically ill and premature neonates, including infants as early as 22 weeks gestation.
  • Manage and monitor patients on ventilatory support including Servo Vents, HFOV, BCPAP, and Ram NC, as well as specialized equipment such as Tecotherm and Baby Leo/Giraffe warmers.
  • Perform and assist with special procedures including Therapeutic Hypothermia, Nitric Oxide therapy, UAC/UVC line management, Broviac care, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tubes, and ostomy care.
  • Administer medications and feedings utilizing Alaris IV pumps and Med Fusion systems; document care using EPIC and Pyxis.
  • Participate in self-scheduling per unit needs, including a weekend requirement of 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period.
  • Float as needed to Pediatrics, PICU, or Nursery for patients up to and including 12 months of age.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 Intensive Care Nursery (ICN/NICU).
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience with neonatal ventilator management.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Familiarity with unit systems including EPIC, Pyxis, SBAR, and 4P documentation frameworks.
  • Experience with surgical neonates and complex diagnoses such as Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy and associated special procedures.
  • Comfort floating to Pediatrics or PICU environments when needed.
